ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the current status of antibiotic use for very and extremely low birth weight (VLBW/ELBW) infants in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) of Hunan Province.@*METHODS@#The use of antibiotics was investigated in multiple level 3 NICUs of Hunan Province for VLBW and ELBW infants born between January, 2017 and December, 2017.@*RESULTS@#The clinical data of 1 442 VLBW/ELBW infants were collected from 24 NICUs in 2017. The median antibiotic use duration was 17 days (range: 0-86 days), accounting for 53.0% of the total length of hospital stay. The highest duration of antibiotic use was up to 91.4% of the total length of hospital stay, with the lowest at 14.6%. In 16 out of 24 NICUs, the antibiotic use duration was accounted for more than 50.0% of the hospitalization days. There were 113 cases with positive bacterial culture grown in blood or cerebrospinal fluid, making the positive rate of overall bacterial culture as 7.84%. The positive rate of bacterial culture in different NICUs was significantly different from 0% to 14.9%. The common isolated bacterial pathogens Klebsiella pneumoniae was 29 cases (25.7%); Escherichia coli 12 cases (10.6%); Staphylococcus aureus 3 cases (2.7%). The most commonly used antibiotics were third-generation of cephalosporins, accounting for 41.00% of the total antibiotics, followed by penicillins, accounting for 32.10%, and followed by carbapenems, accounting for 13.15%. The proportion of antibiotic use time was negatively correlated with birth weight Z-score and the change in weight Z-score between birth and hospital discharge (r=-0.095, -0.151 respectively, P<0.01), positively correlated with death/withdrawal of care (r=0.196, P<0.01).@*CONCLUSIONS@#Antibiotics used for VLBW/ELBW infants in NICUs of Hunan Province are obviously prolonged in many NICUs. The proportion of routine use of third-generation of cephalosporins and carbapenems antibiotics is high among the NICUs.

ABSTRACT

Osteoporosis fracture with high disability and mortality is a difficult problem that seriously affects the life quality of individuals. At present, there is still a lack of anti-osteoporosis drugs with clear target and significant efficacy in the clinical practice. Rehmanniae Radix and its prescriptions have significant clinical effects. In this regard, more and more studies have reported the effects and mechanisms of Rehmanniae Radix and its active components, and the certain research outputs have been achieved. In this article, the PubMed, Web of science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang database were searched to collect and organize the latest research progress of Rehmanniae Radix treatment of osteoporosis in the recent 10 years. We summarized the research dynamics as well as the function indexes and mechanisms of the raw and processed Rehmanniae Radix, active ingredients such as catalpol, aucubin, acteoside and Rehmanniae Radix polysaccharide, and their formulating prescriptions, and then excavated the potential active ingredients, targets and signaling pathways, including the effect on bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, promoting the osteoblast proliferation and promoting osteogenesis differentiation(increasing alkaline phosphatase, typeⅠ collagen, osteoprotegerin, and osteocalcin and promoting calcium deposits), increasing the bone density, inhibiting the osteoclast quantity and differentiation, promoting the osteoclast apoptosis, and reducing tartrate resistant acid phosphatase and bone resorption pit area to provide the reference and develop new ideas for developing Rehmanniae Radix prescriptions for treatment of osteoporosis and exploring its mechanism.

ABSTRACT

AIM:To investigate the protective effect of zacopride (ZAC) on the pressure-overload left ventricular remodeling in the rats induced by coarctation of abdominal aorta.METHODS:Male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats with pressure overload were induced by the coarctation of abdominal aorta.The model rats were intraperitoneally administered with ZAC, chloroquine (Chlor) , and zacopride+chlorquine (ZAC+Chlor).The study duration was 8 weeks.The cardiac structure and function were assessed by echocardiography.The heart weight/body weight (HW/BW) ratio and the left ventricular weight/body weight (LVW/BW) ratio were calculated.The changes of structure and shape in myocardial tissue were observed with HE staining.The ultrastructure of the myocytes was observed under transmission electron microscope.The inward rectifier potassium channel (IK1) protein expression was determined by Western blot.The mRNA expression of Kir2.1 was detected by RT-PCR.RESULTS:Compared with vehicle group, ZAC improved cardiac function, as indicated by the decreased left ventricular end-diastolic dimension (LVEDD) and left ventricular end systolic dimension (LVESD) (P<0.05) , and the increased left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and left ventricular fractional shortening (LVFS) (P<0.01).The HW/BW and LVW/BW ratios were significantly decreased, and the cross-sectional area of the cardiomyocytes was significantly less in ZAC group than that in vehicle group (P<0.01).The ultrastructure of the myocytes was significantly improved.Chlor blocked the protective effect of zacopride on the pressure-overload left ventricular remodeling.The protein level ofmRNA expression of Kir2.1 in the cardiac tissues in ZAC group were significantly increased compared with vehicle group (P<0.01).CONCLUSION:ZAC significantly attenuates pressure overload-induced ventricular remodeling in rats.

ABSTRACT

To identify the risk factors that are associated with the midterm coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) functionality by assessing patency of left internal mammary artery (LIMA) graft and saphenous vein (SV) graft with 64-slice multi-detector computed tomography (64-MDCT).Methods Patients who underwent CABG operation and postoperative 64-MDCT follow-up examinations from August 2012 to December 2015 were included. The graft patent status was classified into patent and poor patent according to MDCT findings predominantly on 3D reconstructed images by two radiologists. The clinical data and imaging findings of the patients were collected and compared between the patent group and poor patent group. Univariate analysis and the multivariate logistic regression analysis were performed to identify the risk factors that affect graft patency.Results Among 341 patients in the study, there were 330 LIMA grafts [326 anastomosed to the left anterior descending artery (LAD), 4 to right coronary artery (RCA)] and 564 SV grafts (SVG) [100 anastomosed to the diagonal branch (D), 226 to the obtuse marginal branch (OM), and 238 to the RCA territory]. The approximal vessel stenosis exceeding 90% occurred in 268 of 292 patent LIMA grafts, and in 1 of 34 poor patent grafts (χ =167, P<0.001). The patency rate was higher when SVG was anastomosed to OM (85.4%) or RCA territory (81.9%) than to D (69.0%) (χ =15.471, P=0.004). The proximal target vessel stenosis < 90% (OR= 0.015, 95% CI: 0.01-0.14, P=0.000) was independently associated with the closure risk of LIMA grafts, the dyslipidemia (OR= 1.52, 95% CI: 1.0-2.5, P=0.048), history of diabetes (OR = 1.28, 95% CI : 0.90-2.26, P=0.045) and typical angina symptoms (OR=1.81, 95% CI :1.33-4.15, P=0.003) were independently associated with the closure risk of SVG. Conclusions The proximal LAD stenosis less than 90% was adversely associated with graft patency in LIMA recipients; dyslipidemia, diabetes and angina symptoms were associated with the midterm failure in SVG recipients. The choice of the target anastomosis sites may affect the patency of SVG.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To assess the value of fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) combined with chromosomal analysis for the detection of Robertsonian translocation type trisomy 21 in amniotic fluid cells.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Amniotic fluid samples from pregnant women requesting prenatal diagnosis were cultivated. Metaphase cells were prepared for G-banding karyotype analysis. For the 5 Robertsonian translocation type trisomy 21, interphase nuclei from amniotic fluid and parental peripheral blood cells were prepared for FISH analysis.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>In 2 cases, analysis of parental peripheral blood cells showed normal karyotypes. FISH analysis of amniotic fluid cells indicated that one sample had two copies of chromosome 21, which has a 46, XY, rob(21;21)(q10;q10) karyotype, whilst another had trisomy 21 by FISH, which has a 46, XY, rob(14;21)(q10;q10) karyotype. For the remaining three samples, analysis of parental peripheral blood cells indicated that their karyotypes were 45, XX, rob(14;21)(q10;q10), 45, XX, rob(15;21)(q10;q10) and 45, XX, rob(21;22)(q10;q10), whilst the karyotypes of amniotic fluid cells were 46, XX, rob(14;21)(q10;q10), 46, XY, rob(15;21)(q10;q10) and 46, XX, rob(21;22)(q10;q10), respectively.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Combined FISH and chromosomal analysis is an efficient method for detecting non-homologous Robertsonian translocation type trisomy 21. However, FISH has limited ability to detect homologous Robertsonian translocation type trisomy 21.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>By the detection of hepatocellular carcinoma in patients with GP73 content to explore its significance for liver cancer diagnosis and clinical treatment.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Up-converting phosphor immunochromatography methods was used for detection of serum GP73 in 302 cases of liver cancer, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis patients and normal control, application electrochemiluminescence detection of AFP as a comparison. And ROC curve analysis of its diagnostic performance, and patients with HCC before and after treatment GP73 periodic testing of the treatment effect.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>GP73 content of liver cancer patients was (160.83 +/- 37.24) ng/ml, significantly higher than the chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis patients and normal controls. The area under ROC curve for GP73 diagonosis of hepatocellular carcinoma and chronic hepatitis and cirrhosis was 0. 907 which higher than the area under the ROC curve of AFP was 0. 727. Determine 110 ng/ml most of its critical value, the sensitivity was 84.7%, specificity was 75.8%; liver cancer patients with AFP < 400 ng/ml, detection rate of GP73 was 71.15%; the GP73 content after treatment showing an overall downward trend.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>GP73 has a high sensitivity for the diagnosis of HCC can add to the AFP's lack of sensitivity that can be used to monitor liver cancer treatment.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To study the clinical and radiographic results of tatal hip arthroplasty (THA) with an uncemented femoral component after 6 to 10 years follow-up, and to investigate factors effecting their efficacy.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>From January 2000 to December 2003, 58 patients were treated with primary total hip arthroplasty. Among the patients, 27 patients were male and 31 patients were female, ranging in age from 25 to 73 years, with an average of 56 years. The 58 patients were clinically and radiographically followed up including before operation, postoperative 1.5, 3, 6 and 12 months, and then once a year. Therapeutic evaluation was measured by using Harris scoring system. The incidence of osteolysis around the components in different Gruen zones was radiologically determined. The data were analyzed by SPSS 16.0 software.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>All the patients were followed up, and the duration ranged from 6 to 10 years, with a mean of 8.2 years. The Harris hip score of the patients improved from preoperative mean of (54.0 +/- 7.8) to (88.3 +/- 6.1) at the latest follow-up. There were 32 patients with an excellent result, 22 good, 3 fair and 1 poor. Radiological analysis showed that 48 patients had stable bone in growth, 10 patients got stable fibrous in growth and nobody showed unstable fixation with aseptic loosening. Subsidence (1 to 3 mm) was observed in 4 patients. Osteolysis of the femoral cortex was seen in 4 patients without progressive development, and the latest follow-up radiographs showed a significantly greater incidence of osteolysis in Gruen zone I, VI, VII compared with others (P = 0.031). All the patients with low Harris score had received prostheses which were undersized in the intramedullary canal, and these differences were statistically significant.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The uncemented femoral component has good medium-term clinical follow-up results because of high stability and no aseptic loosening.</p>

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo investigate the feasibility and influence factors of a new silver salt method for determination of arsenic in drinking water. Methods Arsenic was determined at different reaction temperature,acidity, specification and addition of zinc granular, fill weight of lead acetate cotton, and the effect of these factors on assay results was observed. Arsenic in drinking water was determined in accordance with standard test methods (GB/T 5750.6) of the new silver method. Results The recoveries of the arsenic were 75.3% - 93.6%(F =9.21,P < 0.01 ) with reaction temperature at 10 - 30 ℃, and the best reaction temperature was 25 ℃. The recoveries of the arsenic ranged from 80.3% - 91.6%(F =4.67, P< 0.05) when sulfuric acid was 3.0 - 6.0 ml and the best value was 5.0 ml. The recoveries of the honeycomb structural zinc granular(diameter 0.2 - 0.3, 0.3 - 0.4 mm) and button zinc granular were 87.2%, 90.7% and 83.0%, respectively; the best specification was 0.3 - 0.4 mm. The recoveries of zinc granular weight(3 - 5 g ) were 74.6% - 91.7%, respectively; the best was 5 g. The recoveries ranged from 79.6% - 91.3% with fill weight of lead acetate cotton at 25 - 100 mg, the best fill weight was 50 mg.The recoveries of the arsenic were 90.7%, 92.5%, 81.5% and 74.2% with lead acetate cotton length at 0.5 - 2.0 cm,and the best loose-tight degree was 1.0 cm. The stability time of arsine solution was 5.0, 4.0, 2.5 h with corresponding temperature at 20, 25, 30 ℃, respectively. ConclusionsIn order to ensure precision and accuracy of the measurement, it is necessary to control reaction temperature, acidity, specification and addition of zinc granular free from arsenic, fill weight of lead acetate cotton and loose-tight degree in the reaction system.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect of oral alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) supplement on brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV),supine systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) in overweight/obese individuals.An 8-week double-blind,randomized,placebo-controlled and cross-over trial with a 4-week washout between cross-over periods.Methods Sixty-three males and 40 females aged 22-57 years old who met the inclusion criteria as (1) Han ethnicity;(2) 20-60 years old;(3) BMI≥25 kg/m2 and having at least one of the following risk factors:borderline hypertension (130 mm Hg≤SBP<140 mm Hg and/or 85 mm Hg≤supine DBP<90 mm Hg),dyslipidemia(fasting total cholesterol≥5.2 mmol/L or HDL-C<1.04 mmol/L),or impaired fasting glucose (6.1 mmol/L≤fasting glucose<7.0 mmol/L);(4)Not on any antioxidant gender.Group 1 received 8 weeks ALA (1200 mg/day) followed by 4-week washout period and followed by another 8 weeks placebo;while Group 2 received 8 weeks placebo (1200 mg/day)followed by 4-week washout period,and followed by ALA treatment for 8 weeks.BaPWV and supine blood pressure were measured at the beginning of 1st phase and 2nd phase and at the endpoint of the whole trial.Mixed effect linear regression model was performed to compare the change of baPWV and supine blood pressure between ALA group and placebo group.Results BaPWV decreased -33.03 cm/s ± 130.70 cm/s for ALA group and increased 5.66 cm/s ± 139.89 cm/s for placebo group,supine systolic blood pressure decreased -4.09 mm Hg±9.18 mm Hg for ALA group and -2.32 mm Hg±8.16 mm Hg for placebo group.Supine diastolic blood pressure decreased -1.29 mm Hg ± 6.55 mm Hg for ALA group and -0.48 mm Hg±6.63 mm Hg for placebo group.These three mix-effect models did not show significant effect of ALA treatment after adjustment on baseline values,sex,age,treatment sequence or period.Conclusion The current trial did not provide evidence that oral intake of ALA for 8 weeks had significant effects on lowering baPWV,supine systolic blood pressure or supine diastolic blood pressure.

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To investigate the stability of curcumin, demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin in different buffer solution.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>To determine concentration of curcumin by HPLC when added curcumin, demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin into the buffer solution the equation of degradation was established.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>The sequence of stability are bisdemethoxycurcumin > or = demethoxycurcumin > or =curcumin at the same condition.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>The demethoxycurcumin can stabilize curcumin more strong than the others. The demethoxycurcumin is a nature stabilizing agent for curcumin.</p>

ABSTRACT

This study was aimed to investigate the effects of recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) on proliferation of human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in vitro. The aspirates of the bone marrow from healty volunteers were seeded in culture medium. Then MSCs were isolated according to characteristics adhering to the plastics. After three passages in culture, bone marrow-derived adherent cells were identified by growing morphological features, cell surface antigens and differentiation into multi-lineages. Then P3-MSCs which had been identified were incubated with different concentrations of rhEPO (0.5, 1, 5, 10 and 50 U/ml). Subsequently, proliferation of MSCs was measured by MTT assay, as well as cell counts. At the same time, cell cycle was detected by flow cytometry (FCM). The results indicated that the expressions of CD90 and CD105 in P3 bone marrow-derived adherent cells were positive, while the expressions of CD34 and CD45 were negative, and these cells could differentiate into adipocytes, osteocytes and chondrocytes in induction media. MTT assay showed that the optical density (OD) of group treated with EPO was significantly higher than that in the control group (p<0.05), and the group treated with 50 U/ml EPO achieved the most predominant effects. The results of cell count were coincident with that of MTT assay. Furthermore, the cell cycle analysis by FCM revealed that rhEPO could relatively decrease the cell ratio in G0/G1 phase, and increase the cell ratio in S and G2/M phases. As compared with the control group, all those differences were statistically significant (p<0.01). It is concluded that erythropoietin can promote proliferation of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in vitro, which may be correlated with the increased entry into S and M phases of cell cycle of MSCs adjusted by EPO.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To discuss the clinical value and application range of defecography, CT and MRI in diagnosis of puborectalis syndrome (PRS).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>The clinical data of 83 PRS patients, including defecography, CT and MRI scanning in pelvic floor resting and defecation at maximum exertion, measurement of anorectal angle (ARA), length and depth of ARA impression and the thickness of the puborectalis muscle, were collected, and compared with those of 56 normal persons.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>For normal persons, ARA at maximum exertion was more significantly increased than that at resting. In 62 cases with PRS, ARA at maximum exertion was more obviously reduced than that at resting and associated with puborectalis muscle (PRM) impression. In the other 21 cases, ARA showed no changes at either maximum exertion or resting, a little or no excretion of barium appeared and "shelving syndrome" was showed. The cross-sectional images of CT and MRI showed that the puborectalis of PRS patients were thicker than that of normal persons (P<0.01). PRS patients also showed clear pelvic floor muscle, fasciae and peripheral crevice.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Defecography, manifested the abnormal function of the puborectalis muscles, is a reliable method for diagnosis of PRS. In the meantime, CT and MRI are able to clearly display the position, growth status and size of the puborectalis muscles as well as its relation with adjacent structures, which provide further understandings on anatomical changes, abnormal adjacent structure and other functional diseases of pelvic floor in PRS patients. Therefore, an appropriate combination of the 3 methods play an important role in the early diagnosis of PRS and guidance for surgical treatment.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To figure out the incidence and etiology of knee extension limitation and then to find out the proper methods of arthroscopic assisted diagnosis and treatment.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>We reviewed 303 cases of arthroscopic assisted operation from January to October 2003, 95 cases of which suffered from knee extension limitation before operation, including 54 male and 41female and the mean age was 36.2 years old. The direct reasons of knee extension limitation were identified by routine arthroscopic examination and operations were carried out according to results of the examination.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Incidence of knee extension limitation in this group of patients was 31.4%. Trauma, mainly meniscus and ligament injury accounted for 67.4%, which was the most common reason of knee extension limitation. Acute or chronic arthritis like degenerative arthritis, non-specific synovitis, synovial chondromatosis, rheumatoid arthritis, pigmented villonodular synovitis, gouty arthritis and acute pyogenic arthritis formed another common reason. The follow-up period ranged from 3 to 20 months, average 13.3 months. 82 cases gained full extension immediately after operation, 9 cases gained full extension after 3 weeks rehabilitation post-operation, 4 cases did not gain full extension 1 year after operation, recurrence was observed in 4 cases.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Arthroscopy is the best method for diagnosis of knee extension limitation at present. Satisfactory results can be expected after early arthroscopic assisted treatment.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To explore the technique of diagnosis and treatment of intra-articular giant cell tumor of tendon sheath (GCTTS) in knee joint, and to evaluate its clinical results.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Twelve patients with GCTTS treated during 15 years were reviewed. Nine cases were misdiagnosed with meniscus injury (6 cases) and chronic synovitis (3 cases) before operation, only 3 cases were confirmed the diagnosis of GCTTS by MRI. Complete tumorectomy under arthroscope was performed on all 12 cases.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The results of clinical and radiographic followed-up of 9 patients for 1 to 10 years after operation was satisfactory. Clinical symptoms disappeared, range of motion and X-ray findings were normal. There was no recurrent case found.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>Arthroscopic removal of GCTTS is an effective treatment. Tumor wide resection and debriding the channel which tumor passed through are the key point to prevent the recurrence after operation.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To evaluate the clinical value of simultaneously combined pelvic floor dynamic MRI and pelvic organography in diagnosing female pelvic floor disorders and search for the best imaging model for diagnosing pelvic floor disorders.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Thirty women with pelvic floor disorders received pelvic floor dynamic MRI and simultaneously combined pelvic organography including cystourethrography, peritoneography, vaginography and defecography. Clinical diagnostic value was compared between this two methods.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>The diagnostic accuracy of pelvic floor dynamic MRI and simultaneously combined pelvic organograph for cystocele,anorectal junction abnormal descent, pelvic floor hernia,uterocervical prolapse was 100%, 95.2 %, 86.7%, 85.7% respectively. Rectocele and prolapse of rectal were diagnosed by pelvic organograph in 12 and 28 cases respectively, while only 6 and 0 cases were diagnosed by pelvic floor dynamic MRI respectively. The mean examining time of pelvic floor dynamic MRI and simultaneously combined pelvic organography was (16 +/- 3)min, (34 +/- 9)min respectively (P< 0.01).</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Pelvic floor dynamic MRI combined with defecography is the best imaging model for diagnosing pelvic floor disorders.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To increase the recovery rate of ethyl acetate after extracting tripterygium wifordii extractum and to decrease product cost.</p><p><b>METHOD</b>After extracting tripterygium wifordii extractum with ethyl acetate, 3 times saturated salt water was added in it so as to recovery ethyl acetate distilled under normal atmospheric pressure. Ethyl acetate containing salt water was purified through Na2SO4 column.</p><p><b>RESULT</b>Ethyl acetate purified could be used repeatedly and the recovery rate was up to 85%.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>This method is completely adapted for mass production.</p>

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the manifestation and diagnostic value of CT in retinoblastoma. Methods Twentythree cases of retinoblastomas proven by operation and pathologic examination were collected. Their CT images, clinical symptoms and pathologic results were retrospectively analyzed. Results Twentythree patients of retinoblastomas aged from 4 months to 9 years (mean 2.4 years). CT images showed soft tissue mass (shaped as node, crescentshaped or occupied the entire space of the eyeball) was in the globe of all cases. There was calcification in 19 cases (82.6%), including “small pinch” in 12 cases or “patches” in 7 cases. Five cases were found the optic nerve thickened (21.7%), and 1 case of intracranial invasion through the optic nerve canal (1/23), and 6 cases of retina detachment (6/23). The lesion showed mild or moderate enhancement after intravenous contrast medium were performed. Conclusion CT has an advantage on showing the size, shapes, intrastructures and invasive degree of the lesion, and is meaningful to the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of retinoblastoma.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the MRI finding of female normal levator ani muscle and the levator ani muscle injuries and to evaluate the correlation between childbirth and levator ani muscle injuries. Methods One hundred asymptomatic nulliparous women(control group)and 200 vaginally primiparous women(study group)were selected as the object of this study.Moreover,the study group was divided into two subgroups:group A(100 cases)with stress incontinence,group B(100 cases)without clinical symptoms.Multiplanar proton density magnetic resonance images were obtained at 0.5 cm intervals from these study individuals.All images were used to analyze the differentiation of MRI features between normal levator ani muscle and levator ani muscle injuries.Results No levator ani injuries were identified in the control group.Fifty-four primiparous women(27%)had visible injuries in their levator ani muscles,42 in group A and 12 in group B.Injuries were identified in the puborectalis muscle in 49 cases and in the iliococeygeus muscle in 5 cases(X~2=41.447,P

ABSTRACT

In this paper, metabolic networks of the Corynebacterium glutamicum GWY020 and the two de-rivatives carrying additional mutations HUI821and GUI089 were established and modified. The concentra-tions of extra-cellular metabolites were determined under sub-steady-state (50 h~52 h) of the batch culture. The metabolic flux distribution maps of the three strains were obtained, compared and analyzed. These re-sults indicate that the introduction of analog supersensitive marker or analog resistant marker skew the metabolic flux towards the formation of L-Arginine. This study revealed the usefulness of the metabolic flux analysis as a tool for verification of existing production strains. The analysis may play an important role in helping us to rationally re-design metabolism for further improvement of fermentation process.

ABSTRACT

A L-histidine producing mutant was derived from Corynebacterium glutamicum HZ4221(TRA R DCP R AMT R histidase - )by means of mutagenesis with N-methy-N′-nitro- N-nitrosoguanidine(NTG).Contrast to original strain,the amount of histidine accumulation reached to a level of 5.31g/L in a medium containing 80g/Lglucose and 30g/L ammonium sulfate after cultured for 72 hours; the transketolase activity reduced to a degree of 15.7%.The utilization of the carbon sources,genetic stability,effect of metal ions were also been investigated in this paper.
